10,000 threads about the same thing.

Is it possible to ask people/enforce that we don't post 10,000 threads about the same thing? Someone starts a thread about a hot topic (eg, debt ceiling) and give a one liner when there's already five threads on the same damned thing.

Can't we keep it all in one spot?

Also, maybe some descriptive titles? Not sure if "Obama's a weenie!" as a title with "he's going to spend us all into socialism!!!" as a post is all that helpful. USMB is not a place for your Facebook updates.

Just an idea.

Hi there fellow posters! Is it a full moon and your control fixation is out of control? Well, worry no more! Just take one Fuckitol tablet every five minutes and feel loose all day long! That's right folks, it'll unpucker that sphincter in a jiffy leaving you with that relaxed, empty feeling you so desperately need!
Be the first one to order and the shipping charges are on us! Just have your credit card ready when you call and you'll be billed in three easy installments of $250 each! Operators are standing by, don't wait!
But wait! There's more! Order now and we'll halve your order for the same price.........

Lol @ CG thanking this post

Here's the start of the problem, " Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." But the problem was recently compounded when the scotus decided corporations were people, now the world of words is filled with mountains of words. What to do, what to do. "How often misused words generate misleading thoughts." Herbert Spencer

People contribute what they can.

Admittedly many of their contributions aren't deep, but they are as deep and well thought out as they can manage*.

*(trolls being the exception to this apology, of course)

Then there's people like me who hate it when threads get bundled. It makes it literally impossible to find your place from day to day. I usually give up when a thread has been bundled to the point there are over a thousand posts or more. Plus, there are hot topics that have compounded issues, and they shouldn't be all thrown in under one banner in any case.

Another thing, there used to be a topic called "Current Events" (or something like that) which was eliminated for some odd reason. Some of us warned that everything would get thrown into "Politics," and we were right.

Its the same people who start all of them too.

you get your legs here and you will recognize which threads are a waste of time, and which threads are cool.

Now Rdean will start his 6% thread on a regular basis, and even though he seems to do it like clockwork they are always lots of fun.

Same rule applies here as everywhere. It doesn't matter what is on the table, what matters is what you bring to the table.

I agree.... bugs me too when they are bundled.

Sometimes a subject has more than one aspect to it and difering threads are helpful. The mods do a great job of making changes where necessary.

Looks can be deceiving.
