Rep Power: 446 | | | More Republican personal responsiblity - parents pay off Ensign's mistress
Some one should make a movie about these nutty republicans. Quote: LAS VEGAS (AP) — An attorney for U.S. Sen. John Ensign says the senator's parents gave his mistress and her family nearly $100,000. The Associated Press: Ensign's parents gave mistress's family $96k |

Rep Power: 182 | | I guess Ensign is trying to top Sanford in the "ridiculous" category. Though Sanford calling his affair a love story is pretty lulzy. |

Rep Power: 68 | | | You know, I never have really high hopes for these people. These clowns reached the bottom of the barrel and started digging years and years and years ago. Sanford, Clinton, Ensign, that NY Gov, all have dug all the way to china and are now digging parallel holes back. |

Rep Power: 182 | | We're waiting Ensign, We're waiting. Quote: In 1998, after President Bill Clinton admitted to having committed adultery with Monica Lewinsky, Ensign called on him to resign, saying, "He has no credibility left."[21]
Oh and more hypocrisy: Quote: In 2004, Ensign spoke on the Senate floor in favor of the proposed Federal Marriage Amendment, which would have barred states from recognizing same-sex marriage. Ensign said:
Marriage is the cornerstone on which our society was founded. For those who say that the Constitution is so sacred that we cannot or should not adopt the Federal Marriage Amendment, I would simply point out that marriage, and the sanctity of that institution, predates the American Constitution and the founding of our nation |

Sounds like Mummy and Daddy considered his mistress to be a long time friend.

Rep Power: 1 | | | For liberals, this wouldn't be a very big deal at all...
Mainly because "responsibility" isn't even in their vocabulary, so they can't possibly participate in hypocrisy by being irresponsible. |

That's right Aristophanes, change the entire topic about a Republican being irresponsible and try to turn it into something about Liberals! That's the way to try and sweep this under the rug while trying to incite a flame war!
I'm a Liberal and the word "responsibility" is certainly in my vocabulary among other things. |

Tacit in the thread title is the presumption that liberals cannot be hypocrites. Otherwise, exposing the hypocrisy of republicans or conservatives would be a meaningless, standalone statement. It only gains significance through juxtaposition, which in this case is implied.
This isn't my first rodeo, junior. | | |
