Mainly because "responsibility" isn't even in their vocabulary, so they can't possibly participate in hypocrisy by being irresponsible.

That's right Aristophanes, change the entire topic about a Republican being irresponsible and try to turn it into something about Liberals! That's the way to try and sweep this under the rug while trying to incite a flame war!

I'm a Liberal and the word "responsibility" is certainly in my vocabulary among other things.

Tacit in the thread title is the presumption that liberals cannot be hypocrites. Otherwise, exposing the hypocrisy of republicans or conservatives would be a meaningless, standalone statement. It only gains significance through juxtaposition, which in this case is implied.
