Mainly because "responsibility" isn't even in their vocabulary, so they can't possibly participate in hypocrisy by being irresponsible.

Tacit in the thread title is the presumption that liberals cannot be hypocrites. Otherwise, exposing the hypocrisy of republicans or conservatives would be a meaningless, standalone statement. It only gains significance through juxtaposition, which in this case is implied.
