Now back to discussing childrens' rights and youth rights. Children's rights are protective rights. Youth rights are empowering rights.
How can youth be empowered and protected from harm as they come of age and make the transistion from childhood to young adulthood?
One way we can best do this is by being respectful of young people, and by giving them proper information and guidance. We lead by example, we tell teaching stories. We walk our talk. We model healthy, mature adult relationships. We listen well, and we invite questions. We respect a young persons privacy, we teach a young person how to have boundaries, how to know themselves and their values. We teach them how to stand strong in their principles.
