Ya' know...this doesn't entirely surprise me.

One of the tenents of the early Russian Communists seeking to bring down Czarist Russia was the theory that a truly reactionary government minister was better than a liberal one since their actions would so enrage the people, thus bringing on the revolution sooner rather than later.

This sort of pragmatic (somewhat cynical) thinking is not uncommon in dedicated revolutionaries, regardless of their political stripe.

Given what those White Supremecists believe about O, given their world view of the White'Black divide in America, I can see how they might be thrilled having a Black POTUS.

Every problem that he doesn't solve, will be his fault.

They might be right.

A Black POTUS will be a lovely scapegoat for them to point to as the root source of all problems.

"In 1961, a young African-American man, after hearing President John F. Kennedy's challenge to, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country," gave up his student deferment, left college in Virginia and voluntarily joined the Marines. In 1963, this man, having completed his two years of service in the Marines, volunteered again to become a Navy corpsman. (They provide medical assistance to the Marines as well as to Navy personnel.)

The man did so well in corpsman school that he was the valedictorian and became a cardiopulmonary technician. Not surprisingly, he was assigned to the Navy's premier medical facility, Bethesda Naval Hospital, as a member of the commander in chief's medical team, and helped care for President Lyndon B. Johnson after his 1966 surgery. For his service on the team, which he left in 1967, the White House awarded him three letters of commendation. What is even more remarkable is that this man entered the Marines and Navy not many years after the two branches began to become integrated.

While this young man was serving six years on active duty, Vice President Dick Cheney, who was born the same year as the Marine/sailor, received five deferments, four for being an undergraduate and graduate student and one for being a prospective father. Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, both five years younger than the African-American youth, used their student deferments to stay in college until 1968. Both then avoided going on active duty through family connections."

It's funny. He says he served six years of active duty, but nowhere does it say when or where. I also can't find it on any of his other biographical websites. In fact, if you Google "Jeremiah Wright" active duty, all you find is this same article you provided over and over and over again.

So, I'm inclined to believe that the author of that article made it up and/or was misinformed. I'll need more information than "he served six years on active duty."

It's funny that you're defending Wright. Even Barack didn't do that.

Obama is half white. They can only hate half of him.

He's also not black enough to be black. He has no slave blood in his arteries.

He's the product of immigration and an established white family.


The only thing that Obama can bring is radical leftist socialism. Everything else is distorted.

These racial make ups and demographics are unimportant. He's dangerous because of who is behind him. The fact that he is some sort of symbol is irreleveant.

He is a lightweight and is therefore unfit to command. I do not have any real fire in my bones for McCain but he's a safe bet. The VP picks will matter. I believe either one of these candidates will die in office. I think McCain will die of old age and Obama will be killed by radical blacks who only want to continue the cycle of dependency that blacks live under now.

And to some extent, I think organized White Supremicists are apt to benefit from a Black POTUS.

After all, no matter who takes office, the problems facing this nation are formitable, so failures in outcomes and policies are to be expected.

But what happens, William, if O turns out to be a Kennedyeque or Reagan-eque POTUS?

You know, someone whose charm gives him teflon protection from failures in the minds of the majority of people?

That leaves the White Power people even more marginalized, doesn't it?

I think part of Dukes argument as well, was that McCain was too friendly with the jews.
