U.S. Supreme Court refuses to hear border fence challenge Quote:
The Supreme Court gave the Bush administration a victory Monday when it declined to step into the controversy over the waiver of environmental laws to speed construction of a 670-mile border security fence.

Opponents of the fence, this stretch in Nogales, Ariz., say there are legal and legislative challenges still in play.

The court refused without comment the challenge by the Sierra Club and Friends of Wildlife, which argued that the waiver authority given Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff to speed fence construction by bypassing environmental laws is unconstitutional.
Mr. Chertoff has waived more than 30 laws via the authority granted him by the Real ID Act of 2005 to meet the Bush administration's goal to finish the half-completed fence by year's end.
"I am extremely disappointed in the court's decision," said U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss. "The waiver will only prolong [Homeland Security] from addressing the real issue, their lack of a comprehensive border security plan."

but the discussion is partly (some would say mostly) motivated by racial issues.
what I do not understand is why people just won't come out and admit it.
Lou Dobbs talks about his wife's heritage as if that shields him.
people often hate those they love. heck, almost every day parents murder their own children so why can't Lou Dobbs hate mexicans and hispanics?

The problem is about 20 MILLION of them are ILLEGALLY in our country, using up health care dollars, education money, police and other services money all with out paying taxes or being ALLOWED to be in our Country. 1/5 of Mexico is ILLEGALLY in the United States.
There are about 300 million US Citizens, and there is 1 illegal Mexican in this country for every 15 citizens. Using the logic people like you use we might as well just shit can our immigration laws and declare our borders open and free to anyone that can get here.
These illegals use up OUR resources and money and they spend as LITTLE as they can on the economy, sending most of their money BACK to Mexico. They put an untaxed strain on schools and Hospitals, police and fire departments and emergency crews. They illegally drive with OUT insurance and run up the cost of insurance for EVERYONE. They steal identities and ruin peoples credit and lives. They cause American citizens of Hispanic decent to be unduly scrutinized by authorities. The porous border endangers our country because of the free flow of drugs, weapons and other contraband. It endangers our country because terrorists could walk across or drive across our border in large numbers with what ever weapons they could smuggle or buy in Mexico.
This is NOT an issue of RACE at all. It is an issue of our national borders, our laws and our rights as citizens. If Canadians were coming across the border at the pace and numbers the Mexicans are we would be demanding that border be shut down as well and those WHITE Canadians be kicked out until they legally entered the Country.

The court would never interfere in something that supports the environment as corporations need flexibility when they want to destroy the earth to produce more crap.
