Yes, we hired a lawyer early on. The IRS sent us a letter in 2021 saying we owed them more than 30 grand for not filing our taxes in 2013, 2015 and 2020. I called and asked how they can say I did not file my 2020 taxes when they cashed my check for my 2020 taxes. They told me "your check goes to one office, your return to a different one". That is when I knew I needed a lawyer.

i got the same letter saying i had not filed taxes for 2019...each time i reply it delays the refund
