Rep Power: 379 | | | Tax Payer Protests: Seattle? Denver? Not the first places I'd think of:
[IMG] [/IMG] Michelle Malkin » From the Boston Tea Party to your neighborhood pork protest
Links and more pictures at site: Quote: In Schmucky Schumer’s world, these American taxpayers don’t exist. A big crowd of them gathered in Seattle this afternoon to raise their voices in opposition to the trillion-dollar, pork-filled Generational Theft Act of 2009 — which will be signed into law by the blind President “There are no no earmarks” Obama. Thanks to Zac Petersen for the photos. It took just one person — blogger Liberty Belle — to get the ball rolling. She writes: “Make no mistake, the President will be signing that bill tomorrow, I have no illusions that he will actually listen to us. BUT, maybe, just maybe we can start a movement that will snowball across the nation and get people out of their homes, meeting each other and working together to redirect this country towards its truly radical founding principles of individual liberty and freedom. Maybe people will wake up slowly at first, and then quickly when they realize the urgency needed.”
A few more pics from Seattle blogger Snark Patrol here.
And more from American Typo, including this one:
The movement continues in Denver tomorrow. Colorado Americans for Prosperity is organizing a protest countering President Obama’s visit to the city to sign the porkulus legislation at an exclusive, invitation-only event at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science in City Park. Protesters will gather at the west steps of the Capitol (Lincoln Street, between 14th and Colfax) from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mountain time.... Looks like Nashville and NYC are trying to get something going too!

Rep Power: 56 | | | Yep.. conservatives generally 'protest' in smaller numbers... and on holidays
Because we actually have careers to contend with, families, and responsibilities that we don't try and shirk off on others or the government

Since there really are few in DC listening and states are keeping tax refunds, first CA and now KS, seems way overdue.

Some work ethic, considering these same cons that got that day off also get every weekend off. So I wouldn't word it like that, makes you look like you have a lower work ethic than the liberals.
Also, learn to take a fucking joke sometime. |

And what's up with Obama spending 65,000 per hour to take Air Force one to Denver to sign a bill he could easily sign in his office? Maybe he should drive a hybrid to Denver!

Plus, news coverage in The Examiner and the Denver Post. From the latter:
As President Barack Obama’s pen touched paper today to make the federal stimulus bill law, hundreds of people rallied on the west side of the Colorado Capitol to decry the stimulus as irresponsible.
Protesters chanted, “No more pork!” and a few wore costume pig noses. They waved giant $30,000 novelty checks, representing the amount they said the stimulus would cost individual taxpayers. . . .
Many in the crowd professed great skepticism about whether the stimulus would spur the economy.
“I just think there’s no stimulus here,” said Peter Paulos of Denver. “It’s all pork barrel, and I think there are some hidden measures in it. Nobody really read the bill.”
Well, that’s certainly true.

Rep Power: 34 | | | Hmmm....... Obama' stimulas package amounts to less than a trillion dollars, and it is all going to be spent here. Unlike Bush's Iraq war, that has cost us much more than the stimulas package already, and the company that it benefited the most packed up and move to Dubai.
Seems you conservatives only want to spend money if it kills somebody. |

Mesa police set up a protest area along Guadalupe Road.
They held their signs up high: "Don't tread on me," "Spend all you want, I'll pick up the tab," "I'll keep my freedom! You keep the change!" "Free fertility drugs now." And "B.O. smells and so does Socialism."
A Gilbert woman, with a sign that said, "Fund bikini wax now," said she is entitled to the beauty treatment....
