Watching Bill O'Reilly's lead in to his Obama interview and he and Karl Rove keep referring the media as "they." Does O'Reilly not consider HIMSELF a member of the media?

He said GOP politicians don't like the media because "they" are biased toward Democrats.." (one example of the "they" comment only)

He does not consider himself part of the mainstream media, and technically, he is not part of the news media. He has a news opinion/editorial show. He does not report the news.

Opinion and journalism are two different things.

reporting the news via television and print is supposed to be journalism; the impartial, unbiased account of the facts with no subjectivity.

OReilly, Mattews, Oberland et al are NOT journalists. they are basically op Eds on TV where they are free to let their personal opinions color their commentary.
