Sadly, what you and I may see as basica common sense and human decency, others, some of them reading this right now, consider sinful.

This gap between these diametrically opposing views are so vast, that there's no compromise.

That is EXACTLY why these issues are constantly brought to the fore of every campaign.

they are, essantially unimportant issues to the people leading this nation, completley irrleevant to the monied interests vieing for power over out government, but they are important to some people.

SO IMPORTANT, that they're consistently vote for one party or the other regardless of what those parties do to them financially.

Nice system, huh?

Keep the the sheeple occupied squabbling over things the truly powerful couldn't give a crap about, so that they don't pay attention to the issues that are REALLY important to the nation overall.

A Truly brilliant system for maintaining power and control over the messy democratic process, really.
