The law allows the president to waive those prohibitions if he "determines that the transaction is essential to the national security interests of the United States."

Hell, we might as well give them U.S. uniforms although the last name patch will have to be lengthened.

If you work all sides of a war, one of them is bound to win it. He can't lose.

He was arming them before he announced he was lifting ban. Of course, he just does whatever he wants anyway and never lets a little thing called a constitution get in his way.

How is it in our best interest to arm al Qaeda, especially amidst new efforts to disarm Americans?

It's like Fast and Furious Mexico only on steroids. I guess arming drug cartels just got too tame.

So now we have Fast and Furious Syria. What could possibly go wrong?

There is a solution to this problem:

United States Constitution, Article III, Section 3:
Quote:
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.

There is only one logical practice of the Second Amendment, and that is that it shall not be infringed. Any other practice is an absurdity, for it contradicts the very purpose of the Second Amendment in its entirety; it is the ultimate form of popular recourse against tyranny, and thus no potential tyrants may restrict it. The Second Amendment is the Supreme Sovereign; to surrender the Second Amendment, is to surrender the sovereignty of self-government.

Edward Solomon, 2013
