That isn't confiscation in the sense of gun control. Confiscation means the state take the firearms away from the people and doesn't return them. It doesn't mean someone has to surrender their firearms because of criminal charges or when they are carrying and placed under arrest.

So since true confiscation has been defined to a fool, show me an example of true confiscation!

From what I've heard folks needed guns in NO after Katrina.

Loads of looting and folks being shot at. It was like a war zone and most of the cops were already gone. The ones that were there were being shot at big time. A gun for self defence? You bet your ass.

As for background checks? Hell they always do background checks on anyone wanting to buy a gun. Have been doing them for years.
