Rep Power: 14 | | | Telling the Truth President Obama calls Kanye West a ‘jackass’ off-the-record for VMA stunt
(ChattahBox) — While President Obama was giving an interview today to CNBC, an ABC reporter Terry Moran, said he overheard the president call Kanye West a “jackass” and immediately Twittered the comment to a million or so folks Tweeting:
“Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a ‘jackass’ for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT’S presidential.”
Perhaps the president did say what most of the rest of the country who saw West’s outburst was thinking, but as it turns out what got overheard was during a so-called “off-the-record” portion of the interview. Such casual banter is often a part of the technical set-up before an interview officially begins and eases the process. ABC quickly issued an apology to both CNBC and the White House and removed the Tweet, and promised to ensure no repetition but way too late.
Sunday night at the MTV Video Music Awards, the rapper jumped on stage during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech and declared her award should have gone to Beyoncé Knowles . He then shrugged and walked offstage, leaving a booing audience and a speechless and visibly humiliated 17-year-old Swift on stage. West apologized Sunday night and again tonight during an interview on the premiere of the new “ Jay Leno Show” on NBC.
and Kanye = Jackass
Has President Obama finally found an issue that could unite both Democrats and Republicans in Washington? Obama was wrapping up an interview with CNBC tonight when he was asked about hip-hop star Kanye West’s bizarre appearance at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards. According to an ABC reporter who later posted the comment on Twitter, Obama called Kanye a "jackass."
Now, in case you’ve been in a cave for the past 36 hours, here’s what happened: West dashed on stage during the show and ripped the microphone away from teen country starlet Taylor Swift as she was accepting an award for Best Female Video. “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you. I’ll let you finish, but Beyonce has one of the best videos of all time,” West declared. “One of the best videos of ALL TIME!!” Swift, who is perhaps most famous for being dumped by a Jonas brother, just stood there, looking dazed. Needless to say, the clip was candy to the cable TV nets, which aired it hundreds of times on Monday. It was also the talk of the Internet--where an incredibly humorous mash-up video, posted above, made the rounds. In it, it was made to look like it was West who interrupted Obama’s speech last week to Congress, not Rep. Joe “You LIE!!” Wilson. (Your Gaggler’s favorite moment: the almost hand-clap from Lindsey Graham, who we could actually envision being a fan of Beyonce.)
Props to Obama for actually acknowledging he knew something about all this Kanye drama—-except we weren’t actually supposed to know this. Obama’s “jackass” comment was delivered during an off-the-record chat with a CNBC reporter, but feeds of these interviews are usually shared with other reporters at the White House. And ABC’s Terry Moran quickly posted the remark on Twitter. “Now THAT’s presidential,” Moran opined. After learning the prez’s comments were supposed to be on background, Moran quickly deleted his Tweet, but it was too late, as his message was already making the rounds. ABC quickly issued a statement apologizing for the gaffe. “In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview,” ABC said. “That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again.”
This is unfortunate—and we’re not just talking about the fact that an off-the-record comment was leaked publicly. In a White House that is so very careful about staying on message, Obama’s Kanye commentary was perhaps the most filter-free moment we’ve seen in a while, and let's face it, the slip-up was pretty harmless. Why shouldn’t Obama be able to call out Kanye for acting like a jackass? Is there anyone who actually disagrees? And I do have to laugh, as "BIG BROTHER" isn't controlling the world , but "LITTLE BROTHER," is a twelve year old with a video phone catching everything and shrieking in 12 year old glee at the funny stuff the world does and HAVING FUN posting it on youtube..........

Rep Power: 388 | | | Obama Calls Kanye West a 'Jackass' FINALLY, HE DID SOMETHING I AGREE WITH.
President Barack Obama called hip-hop musician Kanye West a "jackass" on Monday in an off-the-record comment during an interview with CNBC, an ABC News anchor reported on Twitter.
Obama was apparently weighing in on an interruption that occurred the night before during the MTV Video Music Awards where West grabbed the microphone from teen country singer Taylor Swift during her award acceptance speech to announce his belief that Beyonce had a better music video.
"Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a 'jackass' for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT'S presidential," "Nightline" co-anchor Terry Moran wrote Monday evening to his more than 1 million followers.
The tweet forced the network to issue an apology after the Internet quickly became abuzz over the stunning remark published on the microblogging site. threads merged-del http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009...-west-jackass/ http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009...lol::lol::lol:

Rep Power: 75 | | | CNBC prematurely tweats... Obama: Kanye West a 'jackass' for outburst - White House- msnbc.com Quote: In what were supposed to be off-the-record comments, President Barack Obama called musician Kanye West a "jackass" because of the performer's outburst at a music awards ceremony.
The comments were mistakenly sent out via the online service Twitter by ABC News' Terry Moran, who had access to off-the-record comments Obama made while being interviewed Monday by CNBC.
"Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a 'jackass' for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT'S presidential," Moran, a "Nightline" co-anchor, wrote Monday evening. Quote: Moran "prematurely tweeted ... before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again," the spokesperson said in a statement first issued to politico.com.
The White House has not responded to the incident.

Rep Power: 83 | | | "Swift, who is perhaps most famous for being dumped by a Jonas brother"...pfffft!!!
What she's best known for is being one of pop's finest songwriters as described by the New York Times, and for being the biggest selling artist of 2008 in America with combined sales of more than four million albums. That and she was the first artist in the history of Nielsen SoundScan to have two different albums in the Top 10 on the year end album chart.
Her album Fearless has topped the Billboard 200 in 11 non-consecutive weeks. No album has spent more time at number one since 1999-2000. It also was the first album by a female artist in country music history to log eight weeks at #1 on The Billboard 200. In mid-January 2009, Swift became the first country artist to top the 2 million mark in paid downloads with three different songs. As of the week ending February 8, 2009, Swift's single "Love Story" became the country song with most paid downloads in history and the first country song to top the Mainstream Top 40 chart. According to the 2009 issue of Forbes, Swift is ranked as the 69th most powerful celebrity with over $18 million in earnings this year.
She has been featured on the cover of a number of magazines. In 2008, the list includes Blender, Seventeen, Billboard, Girls' Life, Women's Health and CosmoGirl. In 2009, Swift graced the cover of Teen Vogue, Self Magazine, Rolling Stone, Allure, Glamour, and Bliss Swift has been a cover girl for Blender, for which Swift was one of two country artists during the magazine’s fifteen year run to be a cover subject. Swift was named number fifty-seven on Maxim's sexiest women of 2008. CosmoGirl voted Swift as the "2008 Girl of the Year". Swift was named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of "The RS 100: Agents of Change". She was nominated as a candidate for TIME's "2009 The Time 100 Finalists" list, which is determined by online voting.
Taylor Swift is the face of L.E.I. Jeans (Life Energy Intelligence) since 2008.
Oh but she's "most famous for being dumped by a Jonas brother"...give me a break!
