Washington "summons" SLM-N leaders
US administration has invited leaders of Sudan Liberation Movement-North for urgent meeting in Washington to discuss post new dawn charter issues.
The invitation is tending to deny Washington's connection with the charter following the accusations by President Al Bashir'a Aide, Dr Nafie Ali Nafie that US and some European embassies in Kampala have sponsored the rebel meeting.
Speaking to Press Conference held at the ruling National Congress Party, Dr Nafie said Kampala meeting has disclosed that the rebel leaders are planning to assassinate political leaders in the centre.
The document goes in line with Western and Zionist plan to disintegrate Sudan and distort its national identity, he said.
Foreign circles have worked hard to unify armed and civil opposition to carry out their agenda through these groups manifested in the political parties and the rebel movements after more than fifty years of failure.
According to report, the invitation was extended by the Former US Envoy to Sudan, Princeton Lyman.
According to the same sources, SLM-N Chairman, Malik Agar along with SLM-N Secretary General, Yassir Arman has asked Mr Lyman to delay the meeting for one day due some engagements.
The US Envoy Office in Khartoum has promised to help the two men along with Hashim Orta and Philip Nyron to get entry visa to US.
During the three-day meeting, the rebel leaders are expected to meet with US officials including CIA seniors.
ِAccording to observers, the meetings aim to resolve and narrow differences between SLM-N leaders over the new dawn charter designed and promoted by its architect, Yassir Arman.
Some political opposition forces were reserved about the charter while some others were dragged into confrontation with the government for planning to use force.
The invitation is not the first of its kind. During the negotiations in Addis Ababa, US intervened to soften the rebel stands and limit their growing demands to ensure the success of the negotiation and win US presidential race.
SLM-N, however, will avail nothing of Washington meeting which will reflect SPLM-N treason. As super power, US should be neutral and refrain from using these issues for electoral purposes. US should remember that pressures will neither be availing or affect Sudan.
If US administration is really wants to achieve real peace in Sudan, it has to pressure South Sudan to go ahead with talks with Sudan over pending issues.
