No deal! That's Canadian territory! Our mighty fleet of one icebreaker will be up shorty to deal with the Danes. We might not even offer them seconds when we invite them to dinner. That'll show them!

The North Pole has no land over it and isn't near any coastline, making it international waters. Denmark has no more claim over the north pole than we do over the Gulf of Mexico.

While there is no land, it is within the martime exclusions zone of Canada, Denmark (Greenland) and Russia. White knight wasn't entirely off. The advantage of owning the North Pole is for the possible natural resources found on the undersea mountains.

As an interesting side note, the US is one of the only nations that does not recognize Canadian sovereignty on the Northwest Passage and territorial waters around the Arctic, which is very strange.

Our glorious dark emperor plans on liberating the North Pole from its Canadian oppressors after the election.... well that's what Michael Moore told me anyway.

The one nation that are trying to claim the polls are mapping under the ice for a ridge or something that will prove it connects to their territory.
The reason is yes for energy exploration; since it's getting warmer in the poles it may now be easer to drill.
