There had been massive debate among our family line as to the genealogy of my great-great grandfather. So much so, that he was exhumed and DNA tests were performed. It has now been confirmed that he was 100% Cherokee Indian.

Which makes me a legal minority, and eligible for membership/benefits through the Tribe.

I know someone who was kind of in the same situation. he found out that he was 1/4 Cherokee when he was in his mid thirties.
He went off the deep end, changed his name to 'feather', grew his hair out into a pony tail and generally became insufferable. Last I heard he was in North Carolina charging 10 bucks each to let tourists take their photo with him.

Isn't the bloodline a bit dilluted for you to be eligible for benefits?

While most tribes, like the White Mountain Apache near me, require that one have 25% "apache blood" , the Cherokee is one of the tribes who wanted a bigger "tent".
One only needs to prove 1/64th cherokee blood to be put on the membership roles.

Tracing lineage is an eye-opener some time. I've been working on my family as well.

They did a check of my DNA and determined that Adam was my distant relative but Eve was not!!! I think Adam played the field.

Oh really? My grandmother was 1/4 Cherokee and she got a check. My mother is an 1/8 which makes me a 1/16. Neither my mother or I get any money.
