This vault popped up in a book I just read, Scavengers by David Morrell. First time I had ever heard of it. Good book too, but read Creepers first.

isn't storing fundamental things like this a good thing? Just in case?

Until the nuclear armed nations disband their stock or we have some sort of peace, or the planet and humanity work out their differences - we just might be wise to store a few things like this.
