PARIS — A leading French wine industry group has warned that rising world temperatures have sped up harvests, altered the taste of some wines and made conditions in eastern Burgundy more "Mediterranean."
The warning by one of France's top winegrowers' associations was issued at a wine fair in Paris on Friday to raise awareness before the climate conference in Copenhagen from Dec. 7-18.
They say suitable conditions for growing wine are largely moving northward in Europe, and places like Britain and Denmark could one day produce more wine than they do today.
