It's certainly a PART of the solution. It's no silver bullet, but it is A bullet.

What tends to bug me about this question, i s that so many people will say that "sure, we need more nukes", but then when the plans for the plant are near their city, suddenly they are collecting signatures to put it somewhere else.

You lose useable energy via resistance over distance, so it HAS TO go in your proverbial backyard.

Fear factor. Three Mile Island. Happened in the 70s but it's kept the fearmongers on their toes.

I've lived around several of them and look at me ... perfectly normal.
