Rep Power: 16 | | | Obama still doesn't get it. He is boxed in by the job killing leftist ideology. I still haven't seen ANY legislation that would lead to job creation. I want tax breaks for moving jobs overseas stopped, I want tax breaks for creating jobs here passed into law (they call it Corporate welfare). They are simply pissing money away at an astounding rate with no new jobs to show for it. 2010 and 2012 are looming...

The stimulus is working as it was intended to.

No I didn't make a typo above. He did promise to change America, and I agree with your statement.

The problem with obama jokes is his followers dont think they are funny and everyone else doesn't think its a joke .

Rep Power: 30 | | | On a lighter note the president's speech from the Res the other day reminded me of an old joke.
A politician goes to speak at an Indian reservation. Two hours later speech done he prepares to leave. And won of the tribla elders walks up to him and says now we will give you an Indian name. From this day forward you will be known as Eagle that Walks. The politician says cool gets on his plane and leaves.
After words a reporter comes up to old Indian and says Eagle that Walks? I don't get it I've heard of screaming eagles divng eagles in fact every kind of Eagle but onme that walks.
The old Indian looks at him and smiles. Then he says son if you'd ever spent anytime watching eagles you'd know that the only time they walk is when they're too full of crap to fly... | | The Following User Says Thank You to garyd For This Useful Post: | |

Rep Power: 10 | | | It doesnt matter if its working or not to the administration and the shitstain in particular.
He goes down in history books either way with the only title that matters after that its all gravy. If it ends up negative he still gets number 1 which again is all that mattered.

Rep Power: 98 | | "Millions more Americans will lose their jobs. Homes will be lost. Families will go without health care. Our crippling dependence on foreign oil will continue. That is the price of inaction."
"I believe that legislation of this enormous magnitude, that by necessity we are moving quickly -- we're not moving quickly because we're trying to jamb something down people's throats. We're moving quickly because we're told that if we don't move quickly, that the economy is going keep on getting worse, and we'll have another 2 or 3 or 4 million jobs loss this year."
"This plan will save or create over three million jobs -- almost all of them in the private sector."
President Obama
1. $1.5 million in “free” stimulus money for a new wastewater treatment plant results in higher utility costs for residents of Perkins, Oklahoma
2. $1 billion for FutureGen in Mattoon, Illinois is the “biggest earmark of all time” for a power plant that may never work.
3. $15 million for “shovel-ready” repairs to little-used bridges in rural Wisconsin are given priority over widely used bridges that are structurally deficient.
4. $800,000 for little-used John Murtha Airport in Johnstown, Pennsylvania airport to repave a back-up runway; the ‘Airport for Nobody’ Has Already Received Tens of Millions in Taxpayer dollars.
5. $3.4 million for a wildlife “eco-passage” in Florida to take animals safely under a busy roadway.
6. Nevada non-profit gets $2 million weatherization contract after recently being fired for same type of work.
7. $1.15 million for installation of a new guard rail for the non-existent Optima Lake in Oklahoma.
8. Nearly $10 million to renovate an abandoned train station that hasn’t been used in 30 years.
9. 10,000 dead people get stimulus checks, but the Social Security Administration blames a tough deadline. Coburn Highlights Stimulus Waste - Mark Hemingway - The Corner on National Review Online 10.2% UNEMPLOYMENT!!!!
Now raise your hand if you think that the 700 plus billion dollar Stimulus package had anything to do with jobs?

Rep Power: 324 | | | Yet it's funny how you drama queens act when he tried to put in a Buy American provision into the stimulus package. You people would cry bloody murder if he man shat golden eggs. Maybe when you all stop trying to sell out America in the Great Global Free Market Yardsale then America will be able to retain employment opportunities instead of paying a mexican pauper to build cars. |

Rep Power: 98 | | Prime Minister Stephen Harper said the “Buy American” bill could violate the North American Free Trade agreement and contradict the U.S.’ “international obligations” to prevent impediments to global trade. “I spoke to our ambassador about it yesterday and I know that countries around the world are expressing grave concern about some of these measures that go against not just the obligations of the United States, but frankly the spirit of our G20 discussions,” Harper told Parliament on Thursday. “We will be having these discussions with our friends in the United States and we expect the United States to respect its international obligations.” Buy American a NAFTA Violation?
Let me say this then, if this buy America provision was supposed to create jobs here in the United States then perhaps the Govt. should start with the presidential helicopter, did I mention that the new VH-71 is Italian. Or perhaps, the partners in the Joint Strike Fighter that produce 50% of the aircraft. By adding Buy America provisions what we risk is a trade war with other nations that we cannot win as we no longer have the industrial base to compete and thats a sad fact. If you want jobs to return to this nation it's not going to happen by being protectionist or advocating salaries and benefits for workers that put a company at a competetive disatvantage. In order for our nation to become a vital industrial power in this century we must compete in a GLOBAL economy and thats a fact and this cannot be done with 20th century employment practices or advocating an us only attitude.
