The only person on the current ticket that would do a worse job than Bush is Palin.

It strikes me as kinda weird that the top three stupidest presidents/vps, or those going for the job, have been Repubs: 1) Palin 2) Bush 3) Quayle.

What I am even more astonished about is that the Repubs managed to find somebody dumber than Bush out there in the GoP ether...

You sound like right wingers talking about Bush and WJC circa October 2000.

Carter was an awesome negotiator. If you really look into what he accomplished in world politics, you'd be amazed. Nothing flashy, almost boring, but settlements effective enough to stand today. History beyond the rhetoric will look favorably on the Carter administration.

He was not a brilliant commander in chief and he was swayed to easily by opinion polls, but we have certainly had more politically partisan, self-centered and destructive presidents... Carter was ahead of his time.

It was always the Democrat's election to lose. The Democratic-controlled Congress didn't make it easy for Obama, but they'll probably be replaced soon.

Frankly I have been saying since I joined this board that Obama would likely win.

We will all get what we deserve for putting the socialists(democrats) in full charge of our entire government at exactly the worst time to do it. The very people who gave us Freddie and Fanny and the CRA. The very people most responsible for the sub prime mess causing this economic collapse.

Americans are at their core reactionary fools, and they are living up to that label in this election.

Democrats will not fix anything, in 4 years things will be worse not better.

About the only thing good to come of this election will be no more GWB, the destroyer of the Republican Party and Conservative movement.

I'm with you. The GOP should lose. And as I've pointed out, this actually might be a good thing. The Democrat-controlled Congress is almost done and Obama is a relatively weak politician, so we might have a repeat of the glorious 90s (after 1994, of course).
