Several studies I have seen show that a flat tax in the range of 17% to 22% will actually bring in more income taxes than our current convoluted system of taxation.

Not only will it be fairer, it will be easier and more honest.

The politicians will not be allowed to reward their friends through the tax code and people will feel "somewhat better" about paying their taxes because there is always that nagging feeling that the regular person is getting the shaft while the rich use tax dodges and offshore accounts to pay less than their fair share.

Our current tax system is a mess and it needs to be fixed in a way that takes all the special interests and special treatments out of the equation.

We collect more than enough taxes in this country, we just do it in a very poor way and we have a severe spending problem.

The deficits are not an income problem, they are a spending problem.
